Agreement to Terms

By texting Jinu, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please text STOP to opt out.

What Jinu Is

Jinu is an AI-powered personal growth assistant that communicates via iMessage. It provides conversational support for goal-setting, habit tracking, daily reflection, and personal accountability.

What Jinu Is Not

Jinu is explicitly not any of the following:

  • A licensed therapist, counselor, psychologist, or mental health professional.
  • A medical, legal, or financial advisor.
  • A substitute for professional help of any kind.
  • A crisis hotline or emergency service.

If you are in crisis or experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) or the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741).

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Jinu. You must have access to iMessage on an Apple device. By using Jinu, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

Messaging Consent

By texting Jinu, you consent to receive:

  • Responses to your messages.
  • Proactive check-in messages (morning and evening) at times you choose during onboarding.
  • Weekly recaps, monthly reflections, and occasional follow-ups.
  • Re-engagement messages if you haven't texted in a while.

You can stop messages at any time by texting STOP, pause temporarily with PAUSE, or snooze for 24 hours with SNOOZE.

Acceptable Use

When using Jinu, you agree not to:

  • Attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or extract Jinu's system prompts or instructions.
  • Use Jinu for any illegal purpose or to harm others.
  • Send content that is abusive, threatening, or harassing.
  • Impersonate another person or use someone else's phone number.
  • Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, or interfere with Jinu's systems.

AI Limitations

Jinu is powered by AI and has inherent limitations. Responses may occasionally be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unhelpful. Jinu may misremember facts or provide suggestions that don't fit your situation. We continuously work to improve accuracy, but cannot guarantee perfection.

Data and Privacy

Your use of Jinu is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using Jinu, you agree to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

Availability

We aim to keep Jinu available 24/7, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or due to third-party service issues. We will not be liable for any interruptions in service.

Cost

Jinu is currently free during the beta period. Standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply. We will notify you before introducing any paid features.

Intellectual Property

The Jinu name, branding, and underlying technology are our property. Your conversation content belongs to you. We do not claim ownership of your messages.

Account Termination

You can stop using Jinu at any time by texting STOP. We may also terminate or suspend your access if you violate these terms or use Jinu in ways that could harm others or our systems.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jinu and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Jinu is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via text message. Continued use of Jinu after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
